How do I check my Email Account?

Your Email Account can be checked through our free webmail service or through the POP or IMAP client of your choosing.

Webmail:

If you are using Dotology Hosting, you can access your webmail by visiting yourdomain.com/webmail .  If you are using Dotology Email, you can navigate to https://webXXX.dotology.net:2096/ , replacing the XXX with the server that your email is being hosted on.  To find this information, log in to your Dotology Account Dashboard, navigate to Products, select Hosting and click on the domain name that you are looking to check the server name for.

Once at the webmail page, log in with your complete Email address as your username, and the password you created when you set up your Email Account.  You will be prompted to choose a webmail program to view your mail in.  We offer Horde, Roundcube and Squirrelmail, all of which can be used interchangeably.

POP client

A pop client is a program used to view messages on the device  of your choosing.  Popular pop clients include Outlook, Mac Mail and various Mail apps on smartphones.  The settings for your mailbox are the same across any pop client you choose.  To set up your mail, use the following:

Incoming and Outgoing Server Name: mail.yourdomain.com OR webXXX.dotology.net, replacing the XXX with the server that your mail is being hosted on.  To find this information, log in to your Dotology Account Dashboard, navigate to Products, select Hosting and click on the domain name that you are looking to check the server name for.  These can be used interchangeably.  The same server name will be used for both incoming and outgoing server names.

Server Type: Dotology Hosting and Email plans support both POP and IMAP connections.

Port Numbers: Incoming (POP): 110, Incoming (IMAP): 143, Outgoing (SMTP): 25 or 26

Username: Your complete e-mail address

Password:  The password you created when you created the Email Account.  Please note that this is not necessarily the same as your Dotology Dashboard or Dotology Hosting Console password.

SSL/Authentication: SSL should be set to “off” and authentication to “password” if prompted.
